A deadly strike on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport left at least 12 people dead and 309 injured, according to Saudi officials. Among the dead is an American citizen, with the deceased also including four Saudi nationals and one individual each from Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.

Saudi Civil Aviation authorities reported that airport operations were suspended through midnight, and a regional official said the strike hit terminals 3 and 4 used for domestic flights. Flights were subsequently diverted to other destinations.

The incident occurred amid intensified hostilities involving Yemen's Houthi movement and the Iran-aligned conflict dynamics in the region. Saudi authorities and international partners have begun assessing security and response measures in the airport complex.

The attack prompted widespread cautions for travelers and a heavy security presence at the airport, including blocked entrances and dimmed lighting, as flights were redirected or canceled. Several countries advised their citizens to avoid the facility as the situation unfolded.
