A projectile hit Terminal 4 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, starting a fire, according to the Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen’s Houthis.

The coalition spokesman said air defenses intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile near the airport as part of the same incident. Saudi civil aviation authorities described the site as subjected to a new attack that afternoon and noted ongoing assessments of damage and facility safety.

The Houthis claimed targets included Riyadh airport on multiple occasions, saying they carried out four operations in the past 24 hours using ballistic and cruise missiles and drones. They listed Riyadh airport among the targets, along with other facilities.

Earlier, a missile strike on Saturday hit a passenger terminal at the same airport, with the General Authority of Civil Aviation reporting fatalities and injuries and flights suspended for several hours. Some airlines canceled services to Riyadh as authorities and international missions urged caution.

The incident marks a continuation of attacks on the facility during the period, with regional authorities condemning the strikes and reaffirming support for countermeasures in line with international law. Organizers of events in Riyadh stated their programs would proceed as planned.
