Riyadh airport attack: Saudi Arabia warns against filming missile, drone interception sites
Saudi Arabia cautions against filming missile and drone interception sites after a deadly attack on Riyadh airport leaves 12 dead and 309 injured.
Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority has issued a warning against filming, publishing or sharing information related to missile and drone interception operations and their impact sites. The authority says maintaining such information could lead to legal liability.
The warning follows an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which reportedly killed 12 people and left 309 injured, according to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). The fatalities include individuals from a mix of nationalities, including Saudi citizens and several foreign nationals.
GACA reported that all those injured were receiving medical treatment at hospitals, with some said to be in critical condition. The authority said the attack also caused property damage, and that the full extent of the damage is being assessed.
Operations at King Khalid International Airport were temporarily suspended to allow emergency teams and authorities to assess damage and verify the safety of airport facilities. The measures were aimed at protecting passengers, airport personnel and civil aviation infrastructure.
The report notes that the latest attack occurred two days after three Saudi citizens were killed and several others injured in two separate attacks at the same airport on Thursday.
