Qatar Airways has reduced the Doha to Los Angeles schedule from daily to four weekly flights for the winter 2026/27 season, according to schedule filings from AeroRoutes.

Despite the lower frequency, the airline has chosen to keep its largest widebody in service on the route, instead of downgrading to a smaller variant.

The route in question covers the Doha International Airport (DOH) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with a notable transpacific sector duration of about 16 hours and 35 minutes.

The decision aligns with maintaining the Airbus A350-1000 on the route, rather than switching to the A350-900 or Boeing 787-9, which would be more typical under conventional capacity management strategies.

The article notes that reducing frequencies on ultra-long-haul routes often signals shifts in profitability or commercial focus, but Qatar Airways has opted to preserve the flagship aircraft on this service.
