IndiGo has announced the cancellation of flights to and from four Saudi cities—Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah—through October 24, 2026, inclusive. The move is described as a response to the evolving security situation in Saudi Arabia, with affected passengers being notified via the contact details provided at booking.

Travel partners’ customers were told to contact their partners directly for assistance. The airline noted ongoing disruptions between India and Saudi Arabia amid the prevailing security environment, including a recent attack at Riyadh’s airport.

Akasa Air has also extended suspensions to Riyadh until October 24 and Jeddah until October 21, citing the same security concerns. The airline offered affected passengers the option of a full refund to the original payment method within seven days or to reschedule at no cost; those booked through travel partners were advised to contact them for help.

Flight operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh remain suspended according to the Indian Embassy in Riyadh’s advisory. Some services continue at Dammam, Jeddah, and Madinah, with multiple Indian carriers—including Air India, Air India Express, Akasa Air, and IndiGo—having suspended flights to and from Saudi Arabia through October 17.

The embassy noted seven Indian nationals injured in the October 10 Riyadh airport attack and outlined guidance for travelers, including indoor precautions during potential aerial incidents and caution against disseminating information about missile and drone activity. It also highlighted consular support efforts in Jeddah and Makkah for stranded Umrah pilgrims, with 24-hour control rooms operational.

Travel advisories jointly referenced ongoing disruptions for Umrah travel, urging Indians planning pilgrimages to review plans amid possible cancellations or extended stays in Saudi Arabia. Authorities advised travelers to keep essential documents and coordination contacts ready and to use official channels for information and assistance.
