Imams from the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina condemned the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh during Friday sermons, denouncing violence against civilians, travellers and Umrah pilgrims.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that Grand Mosque Imam Sheikh Abdullah Al Juhani described the strike as a crime and a violation of the sanctity of human life, urging Muslims to uphold piety and perform prayers on time.

Prophet’s Mosque Imam Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hudhaifi also condemned attacks on Mecca, Medina and Riyadh airport, stressing the need to protect holy sites, pilgrims and civilians, and urging adherence to Islamic principles.

Both imams prayed for Saudi Arabia’s security and stability, for the protection of the kingdom’s leadership and its borders, and for victory for the armed forces stationed along the frontiers.

Umrah pilgrims were among those affected by the attack, which has been linked to casualties and disruptions at Riyadh’s airport according to accompanying coverage. The prayers from the imams emphasized rejecting violence against civilians and endangering pilgrims and visitors.
