Riyadh airport attack: Two injured Indians remain in ICU, says Embassy
Two injured Indians remain in the ICU following the October 10 Riyadh airport attack, with others recovering. The Indian Embassy advised nationals to stay indoors during aerial attacks, follow local rules, and note that flight suspensions and airport disruptions continue across Saudi Arabia.
Two Indian nationals injured in the October 10 attack on Riyadh’s airport remain in the Intensive Care Unit, according to the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia.
One more Indian citizen is in the High Dependency Unit, with three others recovering in a normal ward, the embassy advisory notes.
Riyadh’s international airport continues to be closed to flight operations, while airports in Dammam, Jeddah and Medina remain operational with ongoing disruptions.
Indian carriers have extended flight suspensions to and from Saudi Arabia: Air India and Air India Express until October 20, IndiGo until October 24, and Akasa Air to Riyadh until October 24 and to Jeddah until October 21.
Saudia continues scheduled operations to Indian destinations from Dammam, Jeddah and Medina; Flynas serves the Dammam-Lucknow sector, and Flyadeal plans Dammam-Mumbai flights for October 17-18.
The embassy advises Indian nationals to follow local authorities, stay indoors during an aerial attack, and avoid filming or sharing information related to the events. It also notes that visa and travel disruptions may affect Umrah and other trips, with transit options via Bahrain, Kuwait or Qatar as possible alternatives.
