American Airlines is expanding its network to Venezuela with a new nonstop service from Miami to Barcelona. The route will begin on January 15, 2027, marking the airline’s first nonstop connection between MIA and Barcelona José Antonio Anzoátegui International Airport (BLA).

The new service will operate three times weekly, broadening American Airlines’ Venezuelan footprint beyond Caracas and Maracaibo. Barcelona joins those two cities as the airline’s Venezuelan destinations.

Tickets for the Miami–Barcelona route go on sale on October 19. The announcement specifies the inaugural service and the planned frequency but does not include aircraft type, exact timings, or other operational details.

The plan represents American Airlines’ first nonstop link to Barcelona from Miami, expanding its international network into Venezuela. No additional information about routes, schedules beyond the three weekly flights, or potential future expansions is provided.
