FAA investigates after jet skids off Harry Reid Airport runway as officials review records
A private jet carrying actor Donnie Wahlberg narrowly avoided a far more serious crash Sunday morning at Harry Reid International Airport when the plane aborted
A private Dassault Falcon 50 carrying eight people, including actor Donnie Wahlberg, aborted its takeoff at Harry Reid International Airport and struck a perimeter fence after leaving the end of the runway.
The incident occurred Sunday morning, with the aircraft ending up on the airport side of the perimeter fence, which had already been repaired. The jet remained fenced off as yellow tape surrounded the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the event, and officials have not released a stated cause for the aborted takeoff. Investigators are expected to review aircraft data, maintenance and training records, and potential mechanical or human factors.
Aviation authorities and airport personnel responded to the scene, and the incident disrupted operations at the airport, including a ground stop that affected both arriving and departing flights. A visualization and cockpit data are planned to be reviewed as part of the investigation.
