The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reported that the condition of three Filipino patients hurt in the King Khalid International Airport attack last October 10 is improving. One patient has been moved from the intensive care unit to a regular burn unit ward in a government hospital, with the second ICU patient possibly transitioning to a regular ward soon.

Another Filipino injured in the incident is in stable condition, according to the DMW update. Among the remaining patients, one continues to be in the ICU but has shown improvement and is conscious, with a Glasgow scale score of 15/15.

DMW noted that the two patients not yet transferred to a regular ward are anticipated to move there as their conditions continue to improve. The department said overall progress among the Filipino casualties is positive.

Reuters and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) had previously reported multiple casualties and injuries from the Riyadh attack, with DFA confirming seven overseas Filipino workers wounded, three in critical condition. The DFA and DMW are coordinating with Saudi authorities to provide medical care and assistance while underscoring the Philippines’ support for the Kingdom and its nationals.
