Indian national injured in Riyadh airport attack returns home after recovery, as embassy ensures safe journey
An Indian national injured in Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport attack has returned home after being discharged from hospital, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said.
Mohammed Fazal Pasha, from Telangana, was travelling back to India following his discharge, according to a post on X by the Indian Embassy. The embassy noted it had followed his treatment closely and arranged his journey home.
The October 10 attack at King Khalid International Airport reportedly left 12 people dead and injured 309 others, with victims from multiple nationalities. A second attack the following afternoon resulted in one death and 11 injuries.
The Indian Embassy stated that 11 Indian nationals were injured in the October 10 attack, and later confirmed one Indian national had died. It also indicated two Indian nationals remained in intensive care.
Flight disruptions continued as Riyadh airport remained closed and Indian carriers extended suspensions of Saudi flights, with authorities urging Indian nationals to follow local instructions. The airport has been subjected to ongoing Houthi strikes, with 20 strikes on King Khalid International Airport since October 1.
