A new premium airline is launching non-stop service between Edmonton and Frankfurt, Germany, at Edmonton International Airport. Discover Airlines, a Lufthansa Group leisure airline, will operate the overnight route with lie-flat business class and premium economy offerings for the journey.

The service will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft and run direct overnight flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting June 1 next year, continuing through October 30.

Edmonton officials described the move as a connection that makes Europe more accessible to the city and supports local business and tourism. The announcements frame the route as a gateway to Western Canada’s outdoor and culinary offerings.

Discover Airlines began operations in 2021 and is noted for premium long-haul amenities, including added carry-on allowances, three-course meals, and space to rest. The route is presented as a complement to Edmonton’s status as a gateway to the Rocky Mountains.
