Louisville will host a citywide observance titled "Louisville Remembers Together" on the first anniversary of the UPS plane crash.

The observance is intended to honor the 15 people who died and to offer support to their families and community members affected by Flight 2976.

The city-wide event includes bells and a moment of silence at specific times: bells or carillons to ring for one minute at 5:14 p.m. and a minute of silence at 5:15 p.m. on November 4.

Buildings and landmarks in Louisville will be lit in yellow for the evening, including Louisville Metro Hall, the Big Four Bridge, and the spires at Churchill Downs; residents are encouraged to wear yellow or illuminate their buildings.

A memorial event is scheduled at Grade A Auto Parts on Melton Avenue, beginning at 4:30 p.m., with remarks from the mayor and other local leaders.

The observance was announced by Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and is intended to provide support to those affected by the crash.
