At NBAA-BACE this week, Montreal-based aviation training company CAE announced the addition of four new full-flight simulators (FFSs) to its global network. Those FFSs will all be based in the Americas, and they add to the more than 130 full-flight sims already in place throughout the company’s training network, delivering more than 300,000 flight training hours annually, and employing more than 1,000 sim instructors in the process.
The platforms include a handful of the most in-demand for type ratings currently: Bombardier’s Global 6500, Embraer’s Praetor 600, Pilatus’ PC-24, and the Cessna Citation CJ4.
“As business aviation demand grows, CAE is strengthening its global training network to meet operators’ evolving needs,” said Alexandre Prévost, president of Civil Aviation at CAE, in a release. “These simulator deployments expand access to high-quality training on the aircraft our customers fly, where they need it, while delivering the quality and experience they expect from CAE. It’s about helping crews stay ready, perform at their best and fly safely.”
CAE also released in 2025 its Aviation Talent Forecast, and predicts the requirement for 102,000 business aviation professionals in the period to 2034, including 33,000 pilots, and 69,000 maintenance technicians, among the more than 1.465 million personnel needed across the entire aviation industry.
