Old RTR flyover carriageway towards Vasant Vihar from IGI Airport closed until Oct 25

The Old RTR flyover carriageway toward Vasant Vihar from the IGI Airport side has been closed until October 25 after cracks were found in the road at two locations, Delhi Traffic Police officials said.

Diverted traffic is being routed to the adjoining service road for vehicles heading to Vasant Vihar, causing congestion and long queues behind the flyover, according to the traffic advisory.

The Public Works Department, in coordination with the Delhi Traffic Police, is conducting repair work on both affected stretches, with authorities noting visible deterioration and cracking in the gap slab section of the old RTR Flyover.

Officials said the entire carriageway was closed because keeping any part of the flyover open was not feasible, and Google Maps has been updated to reflect the diversion via the service road and the closure.

Repair work is expected to be completed by the morning of October 26, with a 48-hour curing period to ensure strength development before traffic is restored.

Separately, traffic restrictions and diversions around Rajghat may be imposed on Thursday for a program scheduled from 10 am to noon, with routes and measures dependent on traffic conditions.
