Air Canada Cancels 5 US Routes for 2027: Charleston Loses Its Only Nonstop
Air Canada US routes cancelled 2027: five transborder services end, leaving Charleston with zero Canadian carrier flights and Toronto’s downtown Billy Bishop–Boston service stopping December 1, 2026. Here’s what affected travelers must do and which routes Air Canada is adding.
Air Canada will discontinue five US routes for 2027, including the route from Toronto Billy Bishop to Boston, with the Boston service ending December 1, 2026.
Charleston, South Carolina is the only city on Air Canada’s list that will lose nonstop Canada–US service entirely, as no Canadian carrier serves Charleston after the cuts.
Air Canada confirmed the route removals in October 2026, citing commercial reasons as part of a broader pullback in transborder travel demand. The airline’s decision affects the Toronto–Charleston connection as well as four other seasonal routes.
The routes being cancelled include Toronto Pearson to Charleston, Seattle, Nashville, and Raleigh-Durham, and Toronto Billy Bishop to Boston, with Charleston losing its only nonstop connection to Canada. The other four routes are described as seasonal and were expected to resume in 2027 before the cuts were announced.
Travelers affected by the Toronto–Charleston service should plan for connections through other hubs, and Charleston will have no direct Air Canada service to Canada after the 2027 adjustments. Some impacted travelers may be able to rebook or use alternative Canadian gateways through Air Canada’s network.
