King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh is preparing to restore both domestic and international flight operations on Sunday, following disruptions linked to missile and drone attacks attributed to the Houthi group.

Saudi Gazette reported that new terminal assignments will take effect to support resumed passenger services. Terminal 1 will handle domestic routes, while Terminal 2 will accommodate international flights operated by Saudi carriers.

This operational shift marks a step toward normalizing activity at a busy Saudi hub after attacks targeting Riyadh and other sites across the kingdom, including the airport itself. Passengers with confirmed reservations were advised to verify with their airlines to confirm bookings and updated schedules.

Houthi warnings were issued shortly after the announcement, with a spokesman describing the airport as unsafe and a continuing military target. The threat adds concern regarding the security of resumed operations as clashes in Yemen persist.

The renewed fighting involves the Houthis and forces backed by Saudi Arabia, following escalations in July. The conflict has included control of parts of Yemen’s Red Sea coastline and strategic areas near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key maritime route for international shipping.
