Biman Bangladesh Airlines has extended the suspension of all flights from Dhaka to Dammam and Riyadh until November 4, citing passenger safety amid attacks on various airports in Saudi Arabia. The decision was announced in a Sunday press release.
The Dhaka-Dammam suspension was previously slated to run through October 26, while the Dhaka-Riyadh suspension was set to continue through October 31. The extended halt applies to both routes.
The airline notes that passengers with urgent travel needs to Saudi Arabia may use Jeddah and Madinah International Airports, with travel to and from Saudi Arabia possible via these airports. Biman has been operating two daily Dhaka-Jeddah flights since October 16, a service that will continue until November 4.
Biman also states that flights on the Dhaka-Madinah route continue regularly using Boeing 787 aircraft, and that further decisions on suspended flights and new schedules will be communicated in due course. Passengers are advised to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh sales center for ticket and travel information.
