A Ryanair flight traveling from Faro to Edinburgh diverted to Oslo due to adverse weather conditions at Edinburgh Airport, according to a Ryanair spokesperson.

The flight, designated RYR7644, would have landed in the Scottish capital but instead proceeded to the Norwegian city after winds affected the approach in Scotland amid Storm Boelo.

Storm-related wind gusts in Scotland reached high speeds, with an Amber weather warning in place across many areas and gusts reported over 80 mph in some locations.

Following the diversion, the aircraft conducted an inspection by engineers in Oslo and was later cleared to operate, with the flight departing Oslo at 00:44 local time.

Separately, Ryanair reported another diversion on the same day: a Malta to Edinburgh service, RUK69HG, diverted to Manchester due to adverse weather conditions at Edinburgh Airport, with arrangements made for passengers to continue to Edinburgh by alternative transport.

Passengers on the Malta–Edinburgh flight were informed via email, SMS, and push notifications, and the onward transport from Manchester to Edinburgh departed at 19:15 local time.
