An Etihad Airways Airbus A380-800 has arrived in Bangkok marking the first time that the UAE flag carrier has flown the double-decker superjumbo to Thailand.
On October 26, 2026, Etihad confirmed that its first A380 had arrived safely at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), following a five-and-a-half-hour flight from Abu Dhabi Zayed Airport (AUH).
Flightradar24 data logged the A380, registered A6-APD, arriving at Bangkok on October 25, 2026, at 07:20, local time.
The 11-year-old A380 has since returned to Abu Dhabi and is scheduled to fly back out to Thailand at 21:45.

Etihad said the first A380 daily flight marked a “major milestone” after announcing in February 2026, that the route between Abu Dhabi and Bangkok would be served by its largest aircraft.
The new service comes as the peak winter travel season begins, supporting strong demand for travel between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe.
“The arrival of our A380 in Bangkok is a significant milestone and another example of how we are investing behind strong customer demand,” Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad said. “Thailand is an important premium market for Etihad, and deploying our flagship aircraft allows us to increase capacity while bringing our most distinctive guest experience to the route.”
Neves said that the carrier sees “tremendous opportunity across Thailand and the wider Asian market” and has “confidence in its continued growth”.
“Bangkok joining our A380 network is an important part of that journey as we expand our capacity, strengthen connectivity through Abu Dhabi and offer guests even more reasons to choose Etihad,” the CEO added.
Passengers traveling to Bangkok will include those traveling in Etihad’s The Residence product, the “world’s only three-room suite in the sky”.
First class features nine private cabins arranged across a single aisle, each with sliding doors for greater privacy while the upper deck is home to 70 business seats.
The A380 accommodates 415 guests in economy, with seats offering an 18.95-inch width, six-inch recline and 32-inch legroom.
