18 domestic flights suspended for Iloilo Airport emergency exercise
MANILA, Philippines — At least 18 domestic flights will be temporarily suspended on Wednesday, as the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) conducts a full-scale Search and Rescue Emergency Exercise (SAREX) at the Iloilo International Airport.
At least 18 domestic flights are set to be temporarily suspended as part of a full-scale Search and Rescue Emergency Exercise (SAREX) at Iloilo International Airport, conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). The measure is scheduled for today from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. local time.
CAAP Area Center VI led the preparation, issuing a NOTAM to inform air operators of the exercise window. The suspended flights span multiple carriers and routes, including Cebu Pacific and Cebgo services to and from Iloilo, Manila, Davao, Cebu, and Puerto Princesa.
The affected Cebu Pacific flights listed include several Iloilo-Manila, Iloilo-Davao, and Iloilo-Cebu itineraries, along with Manila-Iloilo return legs. Cebgo routes involving Davao and Iloilo are also included in the temporary disruption.
Philippine Airlines flights between Iloilo and Manila are part of the suspended schedule. The NOTAM specifies the expected flight operations pause within the exercise timeframe and directs passengers to coordinate with their airlines for updated schedules.
CAAP emphasized that the SAREX aims to bolster airport emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Passengers are advised to stay in contact with their airlines for travel arrangements and schedule updates as the exercise proceeds.
