Edge lighting on the main runway at Isle of Man Airport was reported as 50 percent unserviceable, according to a NOTAM issued for Ronaldsway.

The NOTAM indicates there is an ongoing issue with the runway lighting system and is in place until 8.45pm on 27 October, the airport’s usual closing time.

easyJet confirmed that EZY518 from the Isle of Man to Liverpool was delayed overnight due to the temporary closure of the airport’s runway, describing the incident as an extraordinary circumstance.

The airline stated they provided hotel accommodation and meals as needed and emphasized safety as their highest priority while expressing regret for the inconvenience caused.

Manx Radio has attempted to obtain further information from the Isle of Man Government and Infrastructure Minister Jason Moorhouse, but no response has been received; easyJet was also invited to comment.

A Facebook post on the Isle of Man Facebook page later stated that the runway issue had been “successfully repaired” just before 4pm.
