Montreal-Trudeau airport arrivals drop-off area closes weeknights due to REM station construction
The arrivals drop-off area at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport will be closed on weeknights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Dec. 19, the airport announced on social media Tuesday.
The Montréal-Trudeau International Airport has announced a weeknight closure of its arrivals drop-off area from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through December 19, as construction for the upcoming REM station progresses.
During the closures, patrol staff will redirect traffic to the departures ramp to maintain flow and safety for arriving travelers and vehicles.
The REM station at the airport is planned to connect downtown Montreal and is part of a larger 67-kilometre automated light-rail system linking downtown with the South Shore, North Shore, and West Island.
Officials indicate the REM line is expected to open by the end of 2027 and is projected to ease congestion by serving about 20 percent of the airport’s anticipated 35 million yearly passengers.
The project situates the airport REM station as a component of a broader network intended to improve regional transit access and reduce vehicle traffic in the area.
