Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has ordered the formation of a working group from relevant ministries and authorities to study proposals and craft a comprehensive vision for developing the New Capital Airport and its surrounding area.

The group will evaluate investment options to maximize the area’s potential and assets, aiming to boost economic and development returns.

The directive followed a Monday meeting to review proposals for the New Capital International Airport and its surrounding area, with attendees including the Minister of Finance, Minister of Civil Aviation, ACUD Chairman, and Assistant Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.

Officials said the meeting considered proposals to create an integrated investment and logistics zone next to the New Capital International Airport, intended to function as a logistics hub for various economic, logistical, and industrial activities.

Investors—both international and local—expressed interest in the area, alongside plans to expand and develop the airport, according to the official spokesperson for the Cabinet.

Plans described aim to attract more foreign direct investment and optimize state-owned assets by fostering an investment-friendly environment and providing incentives and facilitation measures for investors.

The overarching goal is to support diverse projects that advance development in the New Capital, strengthen its appeal as a destination for investment and economic activity, create additional jobs, and promote economic growth.
