Etihad and Emirates lead ranking of world’s most extravagant airline luxuries
Private bedrooms, on board showers and an airport spa are among the standout experiences
Etihad Airways’ The Residence leads AirAdvisor’s new ranking of air travel’s most extravagant luxuries, scoring top marks for its three-room A380 suite that includes a living area, a separate bedroom with a double bed, and an en suite shower.
Emirates follows in second place with its A380 Shower Spa, which is available to first-class passengers and features a vanity area, changing space, and heated flooring. The airline also ranks eighth for its A380 Onboard Lounge, a space open to first- and business-class travelers with a dedicated bartender and casual seating.
Qatar Airways appears in ninth place with the Al Safwa First Lounge at Hamad International Airport, described as an airport-based experience that includes the Qspa with nine treatment rooms and a thermal jacuzzi.
The ranking measures individual experiences rather than entire airlines, focusing on amenities beyond conventional first- and business-class seats and using publicly accessible information up to September 2026. Extravagance, rarity, and privacy shaped the scoring the most, with restrictions on access and aircraft-specific variations influencing the results.
