Cyclone Arnab disrupted travel along India’s eastern coast, with rail services impacted across Odisha and southern districts. The Railways cancelled at least 22 passenger trains between October 28 and November 4, according to ANI.

Flight operations along the coast were affected, though officials indicated overall normal activity at Bhubaneswar’s airport. A nine-seater flight on the Bhubaneswar–Jeypore–Visakhapatnam route was cancelled in the cyclone’s wake.

Air departures from Chennai and Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar were rerouted via Raipur to avoid airspace around Visakhapatnam, as confirmed by airport authorities. In Kolkata, several IndiGo flights were cancelled, affecting connectivity to coastal destinations.

The region experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong winds after landfall, with reports of damage and fatalities in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar noted the storm weakened after landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast but continued to bring heavy rainfall to southern Odisha.

Authorities advised passengers to check current updates through the National Train Inquiry System (NTES) and the Railways website due to ongoing changes in train schedules. Local weather forecasts pointed to continued heavy rainfall potential in nearby areas through late October and into early November.
