EasyJet flight to Glasgow 'reports mass vomiting' as passengers suddenly unwell
Flight crew aboard an easyJet flight bound for Scotland were reportedly forced to alert operational command and prepare ground support
An EasyJet flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Glasgow reported a number of passengers becoming unwell mid-flight, with at least eight passengers noted as suffering severe nausea and vomiting.
The incident occurred while the aircraft was navigating through Dutch airspace, prompting the crew to contact the Flight Operations Centre to flag a rapidly developing medical emergency.
Flight U23116's crew notified operational command and arranged ground support as a precaution, while maintaining the planned route toward the United Kingdom.
The aircraft landed safely at Glasgow Airport on Runway 23 at approximately 2:45 am BST, with the airline stating no medical assistance was required beyond precautionary measures.
EasyJet noted that some passengers reported feeling unwell and suggested the illness may be linked to food consumed at a hotel prior to the flight, emphasizing the well-being of customers and crew as the highest priority.
