A China Airlines passenger plane became stuck on a runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport while preparing to depart for Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on October 28. The incident involved a Boeing 737-800 on flight CI840 from Bangkok to Kaohsiung and occurred near the start of runway 02R around 7:20 pm.

The main landing gear reportedly sank into the runway surface, leaving the aircraft unable to move. Photographs circulated online showing the landing gear embedded in the surface and the aircraft stationary on the runway.

Airport operations staff and related personnel responded to assess the situation and arrange for the plane to be moved off the runway. The aircraft was later relocated to parking stand 502 for inspection, and Suvarnabhumi Airport resumed normal operations on all three runways.

Outsider’s Aviation, a Facebook page, reported the incident and provided the photographs, but did not specify a cause for the gear sinking. The report notes a past incident at Phuket International Airport involving a landing gear malfunction on a Royal Thai Navy aircraft, but no link to this event is stated.
