India-UAE travel: Mumbai airport to temporarily close both runways on Nov 19
Mumbai airport to close both runways on Nov 19 for maintenance; UAE travellers advised to check flight schedules with airlines.
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will temporarily suspend operations on both of its runways for six hours on November 19, 2026.
The cross runways, RWY 09/27 and RWY 14/32, will be non-operational from 11am to 5pm IST (9.30am to 3.30pm UAE time) to carry out post-monsoon maintenance.
The closure is described as part of CSMIA’s annual post-monsoon runway maintenance programme, aimed at essential repairs and upkeep to maintain safety and meet global standards.
Aviation stakeholders have been informed in advance, with CSMIA coordinating with airlines and other parties six months ahead to align flight schedules and manpower planning; passengers are advised to check with their airlines for possible schedule changes.
UAE travellers flying to or from Mumbai are specifically advised to verify their flight status with their airline before travelling, as the six-hour closure may affect schedules.
