American Airlines has launched daily nonstop service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP). The service began on November 1, marking a return to Haiti after more than two years.

The inaugural flight featured an all-Haitian, Creole-speaking crew and was led by Captain Oliver Jean. The crew composition added significance for the Haitian diaspora and communities on both sides of the route.

This restart makes American Airlines the first major US network carrier to resume flights to Haiti since service was suspended amid security concerns in 2024. The reinstatement restores a key connection between South Florida and northern Haiti.

The operation is described as a daily nonstop service, continuing a route that had been halted for an extended period. The news emphasizes the importance of the reopening for Haiti’s accessibility and for U.S. commercial air traffic to the country.
