A bomb threat on a Ryanair flight from Manchester triggered an emergency security protocol at Region of Murcia International Airport (AIRM), according to Diari ARA. Local authorities activated the security response after the threat was reported during the flight.

The Ryanair aircraft landed at Murcia at 10:30 a.m. and, upon arrival, 114 passengers and 7 crew members disembarked to undergo security checks alongside the aircraft undergoing inspections. The on-ground checks were conducted as part of the response to the threat.

Security and emergency services were mobilized, including the Civil Guard’s TEDAX unit from Alicante, the National Police, firefighting personnel, and medical teams. A crisis committee was established at the airport to coordinate the response.

This incident occurred in the context of a wave of bomb threats reported on European flights within the same morning and the previous day, with several flights diverted or inspected across multiple countries. Authorities have not yet determined whether these threats constitute a coordinated action, sabotage, or a prank, and no explosives were found on the inspected aircraft.

The Murcia event coincided with inspections of other affected planes in Europe, including a LOT flight diverted to Modlin and a SAS flight that landed as planned after checks. While the Madrid-level security overlay is ongoing, no injuries or confirmed explosive findings have been reported in relation to the Murcia case.
