A Learjet crashed near West Palm Beach on Sunday, killing nine people on board, according to the material provided.

Investigators confirmed that parts of the aircraft’s left elevator, a tail surface, separated from the jet before impact. The three elevator pieces were found at distances ranging from about 1.3 to 3.8 miles from the crash site.

Early discoveries include what appears to be debris that tore through a woman’s roof and landed inside her kitchen, located less than a mile from the crash scene. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office retrieved the suspected wreckage as evidence.

NTSB personnel continued the on-scene investigation, with Military Trail near Cresthaven Boulevard closed as crews removed a dangerous utility pole and prepared to pump water from the crater to recover additional components and potentially a cockpit voice recorder.

Pilot Jeff Gregory and copilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras were aboard, and investigators are reviewing weather, maintenance records, dashcam footage, and eyewitness accounts as they work to determine what happened. The NTSB has not concluded a cause.
