Hundreds of Umrah pilgrims await refunds after flight cancellations
Distressed Umrah pilgrims from Hyderabad demand 100% ticket refunds from IndiGo and Air India Express following sudden Dussehra holiday flight cancellations.
Hundreds of Umrah pilgrims from Hyderabad face flight cancellations during the Dussehra holidays, with many awaiting refunds for advance ticket payments.
Pilgrims are asking IndiGo and Air India Express to release 100 percent of ticket amounts for flights canceled from October 12 onward, according to the organizers.
Hyderabad Umrah Organisers have urged airlines to transfer refunds directly to Consolidated Agents’ accounts so the money can be returned to affected passengers without delay.
Organisers say pilgrims paid full airfare in advance and that airlines had assured complete refunds, but most passengers have not received their money, causing widespread anxiety.
Representations are being submitted to local officials, including Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, in hopes of intervention, with public representatives urged to contact airline officials.
