Passenger numbers up at Montreal’s Trudeau Airport in third quarter
Passenger numbers and operating costs due to infrastructure work were both up during the third quarter at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.
Passenger numbers at Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport rose in the third quarter, with about 6.7 million travelers passing through Dorval, Quebec, from July through September.
The quarterly increase was 2.5 percent versus the same period last year, driven in part by a rebound after a dip in August 2025 during the Air Canada strike. Domestic and cross-border traffic each grew by 3.7 percent, while international traffic rose by 1.3 percent.
Operating expenses for the quarter increased 12.4 percent compared with the prior year, reaching $96.9 million. The higher costs were tied to initiatives intended to mitigate the impact of the 2024–2028 Flight Plan on passengers, including upgraded infrastructure.
Capital expenditure related to airport revitalization and the REM station totaled $304.5 million in the quarter, up 53.9 percent from the same period in 2025.
Revenue for July to September was $274.4 million, up three percent from $266.4 million the previous year, while EBITDA stood at $135.0 million, down 3.1 percent from $139.4 million. As of Sept. 30, ADM reported net debt of $2.9 billion, compared with $2.4 billion at the same point last year.
