JetBlue has raised its checked baggage fees for the second time this year, with the new charges taking effect for tickets purchased on or after November 3. The changes apply to most economy passengers flying within the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The new rate for a first checked bag is at least US$50 one-way, up from US$39. During peak travel periods such as Thanksgiving and the winter holidays, the fee can rise to US$55 if paid at least 24 hours before departure.

If payment is delayed until the final 24 hours before departure, the fee for a single bag is US$60 during off-peak periods and US$70 during peak periods. JetBlue says the adjustments are intended to offset rising fuel and operating costs while keeping base fares competitive.

JetBlue notes that some travelers, including eligible co-branded credit card holders and loyalty-program members, can still check bags for free. The airline previously raised baggage fees in March, contributing to broader fee hikes among major U.S. carriers.
