Several passenger flights across Europe were diverted on Thursday after bomb threats, marking a second consecutive day of such alerts.
Wizz Air and Aer Lingus were among the carriers diverting flights as authorities responded to the threats. One affected Aer Lingus Dublin-Rome flight was diverted toward Evreux, France, while a Wizz Air Milan-Warsaw service was redirected to Vienna.
In France, the Dublin-Rome Airbus A320 landed safely at Évreux air base after the diversion. The French prime minister’s office said the situation was being monitored in real time and reported that 151 passengers and six crew were safe, with military bomb-defusal teams examining the aircraft.
Additional reports noted three other aircraft diverting to Bulgarian airports for security checks, with two planes landing in Sofia and a third in Plovdiv after bomb threats were investigated. No hazardous items were reported as found in those cases.
The Thursday disruptions followed Tuesday’s hoax bomb threats that affected multiple flights across Europe, prompting diversions, security searches, and temporary airport closures. No injuries were reported in the sequence of events.
