UAE air travellers faced ongoing delays and cancellations on Thursday as carriers rework schedules amid security concerns, with disruptions reported at both Dubai International and Abu Dhabi International Airports. Several routes between the UAE and Saudi Arabia were affected, and carriers including Etihad, Emirates, flydubai and Air Arabia issued cancellations or suspensions on various Saudi services.

Etihad has extended the suspension of all passenger and cargo flights between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh and Dammam through November 19, while some Jeddah services are set to resume on Friday, offering a limited return to normal on that route. The operating picture was described as mixed, with some international flights gradually resuming ahead of the winter season.

Dubai-bound operations were also affected as European and other international airlines prepared to reintroduce services, with British Airways resuming daily London-Heathrow to Dubai, and Lufthansa, SWISS and Eurowings planning to restart selected routes later in November.

Passengers were advised that flight listings reflected the time of checking and could change, underscoring the need to confirm bookings directly with airlines before travel. The disruption extended to individual delays and cancellations across Dubai and Sharjah operations, including several flights to and from destinations in Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

Winter-resumption plans were underway despite the disruptions, with several carriers announcing or resuming services to Dubai in the coming weeks, while other airlines extended suspensions or adjusted schedules. Passengers should verify status and be prepared for last-minute changes, including potential rebooking options or refunds, by checking with the airline and reviewing official advisories.
