Investigators in Florida released new video showing they are carefully gathering small fragments of a Learjet from the large crater left when the aircraft crashed onto a roadway on Sunday, killing all nine aboard.

The National Transportation Safety Board has confirmed the recovery of a portion of one engine and notes that debris was found away from the impact site, including on rooftops near the crash location.

WPBF’s team documented efforts inside the crash crater after the area was pumped clear of water, with crews collecting multiple small aircraft fragments as part of the ongoing examination.

Neighbors described the aftermath of the crash, noting that debris damaged nearby homes and that a triplex roof was struck, with a kitchen ceiling collapsing in a neighboring unit.

Authorities have previously stated that significant pieces of the aircraft’s left elevator were recovered as far as 3.8 miles from the crash site, though investigators have not determined whether their separation was due to loss of control or other factors.

Residents and observers are urged to hand any recovered debris to authorities rather than keep or move it, to aid the investigation and potential determination of the crash cause.
