A father grieving the loss of his 20-year-old daughter who served as co-pilot in a Learjet crash spoke publicly five days after the incident, expressing love and pride while vowing to preserve her legacy.

Nathalia Filgueiras was among nine people killed when the Learjet crashed into Military Trail near 10th Avenue North in Greenacres, with debris scattered and a ground vehicle injured.

The family’s legal team said they are not pursuing a lawsuit at this time and emphasized they will await the federal investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board before drawing conclusions or making formal statements.

Nathalia’s father, Allan Filgueiras, described her as gifted and extraordinary, recounting a lifelong passion for aviation that began when he introduced her to flying at a young age and continued as she trained to become a pilot.

Investigators from the NTSB have not yet determined the crash’s cause, and the family’s attorneys indicated they will review the government findings before forming their own perspective. The scene remained under investigation days after the crash.
