President John Dramani Mahama has met with officials from Boeing to discuss Ghana’s plan to re-establish a national carrier, with Boeing pledging ongoing technical support for the project.

A roadmap developed with government partners outlines steps toward a commercially viable national airline, including identifying a strategic airline partner, securing an Air Operator Certificate, choosing an aircraft fleet, and arranging financing.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a Presidential Adviser, said preliminary studies have confirmed the project's viability and outlined an implementation process with regulatory approvals and partnerships.

Boeing officials assured continued support through the establishment and operational phases, though specific commitments were not disclosed.

The initiative aims to position Accra as West Africa’s aviation hub, leveraging upgraded Kotoka International Airport and rising regional demand, while also creating employment opportunities across the aviation sector.
