A small plane overturned on the runway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County on Saturday, according to an airport spokesperson.

The overturned aircraft was a Cessna 172, registered N57BM, and it occurred on the airport's ACI jet ramp around 2:38 p.m. The Cessna is described as a fixed-wing single-engine aircraft registered to Huerta Holdings Inc. in Santa Ana.

Two occupants were aboard the plane at the time of the incident. The spokesperson said there were no reported injuries and that there is ongoing response for safe recovery and investigation.

There was no further impact to other operations at the airport, according to the spokesperson. Initial ground control radio conversations suggested the Cessna may have been blasted by a United Airlines 737 jet blast. Representatives for United Airlines, the FAA, and NTSB did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

This incident follows another event at John Wayne Airport in the prior day, when a Southwest flight from John Wayne Airport to San José declared a general emergency shortly after takeoff and landed safely at LAX.
