MILAN — An easyJet flight from Iceland to Italy requested police presence upon arrival on Thursday afternoon following reports of a disruptive, intoxicated passenger carrying an eating knife on board.

Flight U23970, operated by an Airbus A321neo (registration OE-ISE), had departed Keflavík International Airport (KEF) bound for Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). As the aircraft made its final approach into Milan on November 5, 2026, the flight crew contacted air traffic controllers to alert them to a “Level 1” passenger disturbance.

According to reports from the flight deck, the individual was visibly intoxicated, shouting, and in possession of a standard eating knife. While the passenger did not attempt to use the utensil aggressively, its presence raised immediate safety concerns for the flight crew and nearby passengers.

In response to the alert, ground controllers inquired whether law enforcement should be dispatched to meet the aircraft directly at the gate.

Despite the disturbance, the situation remained under control throughout the final phases of the flight. The Airbus A321neo touched down safely on runway 35R at Malpensa Airport at 17:45 CET. The aircraft then taxied normally to Terminal 2, where local authorities were prepared to handle the situation upon arrival.

No injuries were reported, and normal airport operations were not disrupted.
